FAQ List (Frequently Asked Questions)

Preliminary Questions

How does the church serve the community and encourage the congregation to do the same?

The church maintains a food pantry for the community. Thanksgiving and Christmas food 'baskets' are also distributed to many in need. All these outreach efforts are funded by the donations, gifts, and offerings of our members. We also have Fall Treats and Treasures which is an outreach to the community.

Preliminary Questions

How are finances handled and kept accountable?

Finances are handled by the Annual Budget, which is prepared by a meeting of the committee chairs and is approved by the church in Business Meeting. Finances are administered by the Finance Committee, which is elected by the church. How much goes to debt? The church is debt free. How much to local and global outreach/missions? Nine percent of the budget goes to the local association, the state organization, and the national organization (via the state organization). National and global missions are supported by annual offerings by the congregation. See Welcome > Ministries > Missions Ministries.
